Well, today was a bit of a not feeling like doing too much one, so I found some digital stamps that I had printed and spent some time colouring and cutting and making!

This was an image called HeartFairy that I think I downloaded from D2DDigi Stamps, but when I went back to the website to check, I couldn't find it. The label on the download says D2DDigi Stamps so maybe it has been shifted?  I printed the stamp onto watercolour paper to see what it would be like. I coloured the image with Tombow markers then added a little KindyGlitz to highlight the hearts and the wings and shoes. I used the Swiss Dots folder to emboss the pink layer and added a purple dotted ribbon and flower brad. The ribbon doesn't site straight because the slots in the brad are angled and the ribbon is a bit wider than the slots!! The sentiment is a Hero Arts one from one of my favourite sets.

This card uses some images from Tiffany Doodles that I won from Tiffany's blog - Thanks Tiffany the doodles are great. I coloured the images with Tombow markers and added some Kindyglitz to the mauve parts of the flowers. I thought I would use the diagonal today instead of up and down or across and layered a piece of dotted paper then a ribbon. Attached the knot separately as the ribbon would not sit properly. Again, the sentiment is from my Hero Arts collection.

Have just been had an email from one of the Administrators from Card Making World to say that my pink flower card has the highest rating currently.  Wow - never expected that!

Another one today

This is a card I made for this week's Tanda Teaser, set by Sue Law. The theme was These boots are made for walking - but I didn't have any boots, so I made shoes and called it - These shoes are made for dancing!! Stamped one shoe on silver then masked it to stamp the other shoe. The background card was embossed with the CB and I used lace to edge a piece of silver cards for the centre of the card.

Busy this week

Yes, yet another week has gone by and I am only just updating this. So much for good intentions!!

 I "checked"out a few challenge to give me some inspiration for this week. Carol over at Carol's Sketch Fun had a nice design that I have used for her challenge this week. Used a black card as a base, then added a nice deep red layer and attached with silver brads. The black/silver spots layer was some nice paper that I bought last year and have not had a chance to use. The stamp is one of those lovely old photograph stamps that I cut so I just had the girl leaning on the chair. Layered the words with layering tape so they stand out from the rest of the card.

 

This card uses the same stamp but I have only cut one side of it. The top, bottom and left side are torn. I used distress inks to colour the torn parts of the picture. The dress was coloured with waterpen and tonbow markers. The challenge for Papertake Weekly   was Check this out. The background paper is checked, as is the girl's dress and the card also has gingham ribbon.

The design is from 2 Sketches for You for this week, but I have mirrored the actual sketch.

Allsorts Challenge this week

This card was for the Allsorts Challenge for this week. Instead of a square card, I made it rectangular. It does look different from the original sketch. The backing paper was a double sided sheet that I found in my stash. The sentiment was embossed with white and the other stamp was coloured using the Tombow markers. I used black distress ink to shade the edges of the white card.

Another week gone...

Another week has gone and I am just getting onto posting again. I was going to do this every day...

Nevermind - I have made some more challenge cards and here they are.

This card was for Carol's Sketch Fun. Hopefully I can upload it to her blog! The background was done on the Cuttlebug using the swirls folder. The red layer across the card is a piece of coarse fabric ribbon - I think it is used for making hats or fascinators. I layered that with a card punched with the Fiskars scalloped border punch then a red ribbon with black dots.  The hearts were cut using a Fiskars template then embossed with the Swiss Dots folder.

The sentiment is from a Hero Arts sets.


The second card is for the Card Patterns Sketch 49.
The background paper was from a card magazine (can't remember which one!)
I used scalloped scissors to cut the two white strips. The hearts were cut from the Fiskars template. I stamped a small heart on the red one and embossed it with gold.

The sentiment is from the Hero Arts set. I stamped the border with a new border stamp that I found I had not used yet!!! Finished it with small gold heart shaped brads.

Busy Tuesday

Well another day and another couple of challenges (I wonder if I can keep this up??)

This card is for the Paper Craft Planet sketch challenge sk012310.

I used a dark brown base card and layered it with a lighter brown. I cut out a whole lot of circles and other shapes with my Cricut at the weekend so I was able to use some of these on this card. The yellow circle I embossed with the swiss dots Cuttlebug folder. I stamped the other piece with one of my Tanda stamps and coloured it with Tombow markers and water brush. I then used  yellow, orange and mahogany distress inks to provide the colour around the edges. The sentiment is a Hero Arts stamp. 

The second card was for the 2 Sketches 4 You challenge this week.

For this one, I used a Montarga stamp for the centrepiece and layered the white on black card. The feature at the bottom of the black card was a border stamp from Fiskars that I embossed with white. I used a Fiskars scallop border punch to create the bottom layer for the ribbon.
The card needed something else, so used some stick-on dots for the corners.

Monday

Today is the first day of my challenge to myself to participate in challenges from various blogs associated with card making.

Sarah over at the Cardpatterns blog set a nice challenge this week.
I made this in pink and silver. The silver paper was embossed with the swiss dots folder using the Cuttlebug. Layered a little lace doily I had, which I have been wanting to use (still have another 99 to use!). I attached 2 ribbons, a silver one on top of a pink. gauzy one, then attached the stamped, watercoloured flower.

I also learned how to put a signature on the bottom of the picture using Photoshop.
 

The second challenge for today was  from Carol's Sketch Fun. I used the sketch to make an anniversary card for Roger for our wedding anniversary on Wednesday. The colours don't show terribly well in the photo. However, I used a wine coloured base card with cream and gold metallic card for the decorative bits. Again, used the cuttlebug to emboss the cream background with the hearts folder.

Stamped two hearts and embossed with gold. Layered one over the other and swiped the edges with gold ink. The sentiment is embossed with gold also. Two little gold brads finish the card.
