This week's challenge over at CWC is all about Office Stuff. The office and craft room at my house both have so many pens and pencils around that I am always looking for places to keep them.
So this theme was a perfect opportunity for me to make a pen holder!
I used the Tags, Bags, Boxes and More 2 cart with my Cricut. I chose the coffee mug design and used the Cricut Craft Room to do the design.
I didn't want the handles on the mug so I removed the slots in the cutting file by using the Hide Contour feature of the program. To add some stability to the top of the pen holder, I cut a strip of card that measured slightly longer than the circumference of the holder and folded in half before attaching to the inside of the rim.
I cut the letters at 2" tall from different colours of card, then embossed them with the swiss dots folder and my Cuttlebug.
To finish off, I added some fancy ribbon to the top and bottom.
It would be great to see you over at the CWC challenge at My Paper Crafting this week. You have loads of time to get your entry linked for this challenge too.
Over the last few years, my interests have changed a little. I have developed an interest in patchwork and quilt making which seems to have overtaken my interest in card making! I still make cards, but not as much as I used to. Hence the change name for this blog.

Cooking with Cricut Wonderful Wednesday Cricut Challenge
Wednesday again (at least it is in the USA still!) and time for another Wonderful Wednesday Cricut Challenge over at Cooking with Cricut. The theme today is Pumpkins and circles or dots.
I used my Cricut and the Tags Bags Boxes and more 2 cart to make this cute little pumpkin box with a handle.
I cut the pumpkin shaped box in brown then cut the top layer in orange. I used a brown Cricut pen in the machine to draw the lines on the top layer for the pumpkin before embossing it in the big dots CB folder. I edged the layers with vintage photo distress ink then glued them to the box.
I cut the tag and swirls with the cricut and stamped the tag using letters from a stamp set and a cat face stamp from Tanda.
This would be so cute to fill with Halloween goodies for trick or treaters - but we don't really do Halloween here in NZ!
Hop on over to Cooking with Cricut to see the other projects from the lovely ladies in the DT. While you are there, check out the DT call for the 25 Days of Christmas.

Its all about the numbers
PCW's Terrific Tuesday Challenge this week is all about Numbers! The DT has come up with some lovely projects for you to look at here!
For this week's challenge, I decided to use the numbers embossing folder as a background. I inked the folder with the green ink then embossed the card as normal. It came out with a lovely green background and the numbers showing in the cream cardstock.
I stamped some little pennants on blue spotted paper and used the same paper for the lower part of the card.
I cut out the pennants and attached them to some bakers twine across the top of the card.
I printed the digi image from PCW here then coloured him in using copic markers. I added some sparkly pen to the sparkler, but it really does not show up here!
I stamped the sentiment using the same ink as the background then die cut it and attached to the card.

Card Making World Monthly Challenge
It was Father's Day here in New Zealand yesterday, so I made this card for my dear husband to thank him for being such a great father and grandfather to our children and grandchild.
It is also one of the cards I made for the Monthly Challenge DT over at Card Making World, the theme of which this month is Monochrome.
The central image is a die cut in black, embossed with white chalk ink and backed with a white layer, cut from the outer edge of the die.
The silhouette was cut separately and added to the centre of the card.
The second DT card for the monthly challenge was a Wedding themed card.
I cut this all out using my Cricut and white cardstock, then embossed some of the layers to provide contrast in texture, rather than colour.
The bride and groom had sparkly gel pen added to highlight some of the features of their clothes.
