Hearts

It is my turn again to post over at Paper Crafting World.

Today I have two cards for you - the first is the Cascading hearts card which is available here. I decided to cut it all in the same cardstock to show how effective the tone-on-tone technique can be.

I embossed alternate layers using the Swiss Dots folder from Provocraft and layered up each layer using foam dots of varying thicknesses to create dimension.

To finish the card, I added some red bling to the right hand side of the card and stamped a sentiment, which I attached using glue and foam dots.

The second card  is the same cutting file Larelyn used in yesterday's post.

Instead of colours, I used black, white and red. The effect is totally different from that produced in Larelyn's design.

I stamped a word stamp on the heart and heat embossed it with detail silver to add another dimension to the card.

The cutting files for both of these cards are still available at a discounted price over at Paper Crafting World.

Please join in our challenge for this month! Look forward to seeing lots of entries.

Hearts to You

With Valentine's Day coming up next week, it is appropriate that the theme for the challenge over at My Paper Crafting this week, is Hearts to You!

For this project, I used the Cricut Craft Room Basics digital cartridge. I made a shadow layer of the letters and heart shape and welded the shadows together. I used copy and paste, flip and weld to make the card.

I then made the letters and heart to fit the card layer and cut all the pieces out. I embossed the letters and heart using my Cuttlebug and attached them to the card.

To finish it off, I added a rolled rose cut using one of Melin's beautiful rolled roses and a swirl from the frame'n flourish cutting file. I stamped the sentiment on a card that I attached underneath the flower and swirl.

Please join us over at MPC for the challenge and take a look at the lovely projects made by the other team members. Thanks for looking!
PS: Melin's cutting files are all available at Paper Crafting World

Flying High

The challenge for this week over at Paper Crafting World is Let's all fly high.

Melin has a lovely aviator file that is just the thing for those layouts and cards that involve planes or flying.

For my project this week, I made a card using the aviator cutting file and the balloon cutting file from the Key to my heart set.

For the background, I used distress inks and brayered the different colours after I stamped the clouds and masked them.

I stamped a grass stamp from Montarga along the bottom of the card and added the Happy Birthday stamp.

For the Fly High sentiment, I used a gel pen with my Cricut and wrote the letters, then cut out the cloud shape. I used SCAL2 to do this.

Check out the lovely designs from the rest of the design team here.
