Reminder post for PCW Easter Challenge

Just a reminder that there is still a week to go in the PCW Easter Challenge!

For this wee reminder card, I downloaded the bunny in overalls digi stamp and coloured it with pencils, using an odourless mineral spirit solvent to smooth out the pencil lines. The result is a very soft colour effect.

I layered the image onto a black die cut oval (Nellie Snellen) and green die cut  and added it to an easel card base that I cut with the Cricut. I added faux stitching to the layer and the base card and a ribbon to pick up some of the colours in the image.

Love to see your entries in the challenge!  Hop on over to Paper Crafting World to check it out!

Last practical day for Creative Chemistry

Used distress Stickles and distress inks for this one. Different effects but needs a bit of trialling!

These are the tags I made for my homework using pearl powders and distress inks. Love the effects of the combinations of inks and powders!

THCC101 Day 8

Day 8 for the Creative Chemistry Class was all about paints - paint dabbers and crackle paint.

My paint resist tag was a bit disappointing but I think this was because the paint was not thick enough - still, you can see the effect.

I love the jewelled  effect of the heart on the tag. The crackle paint and the distress stain works so well together!

Easter

It is Easter - goodness how the year is flying by!

Because I was going to be away from the family for Easter, we had a family get together last weekend instead. To celebrate, I made all the family an Easter Egg using the wonderful files from SVG Cuts.

Everyone had an egg with goodies inside. For our Grandaughter, I had a little easter bunny instead of chocolate as she is still a little young to be eating chocolates!

For the labels on each egg, I designed the writing and the shapes using a Penny Duncan Shaplies file in the Funtime software. I then did the writing using a gold pen in the Black Cat Cougar, before cutting out the shapes.

PCW Easter

The theme for the challenge this week over at Paper Crafting World is Easter, given that it is coming up at the end of this week!

For this card, I used the medallion cutting file which I broke apart before cutting so that I could cut it in layers. I separated the central cross from the image using SCAL then  created a shadow layer as well.

I coloured the cross using Adirondack Paint Dabber in Gold which gave it a textured appearance.

I finished the card off with peel off shapes - elegant corners and wavy strips along the sides. Added the sentiment using peel off words too.

Happy Easter everyone!
